LOCATION SCOUTING

Our film opening is about a struggling athlete who needs the scholarship to go to college. This is because of her socio-economic status.

I and my group want the audience to know that she is in the lower class without having to spell it out for them. So for the first scene, I thought it would be best if we shoot the main character running through her neighborhood to establish her economic status.

We decided that the main character would be living in a trailer park. And we wanted to choose a location that was accessible (near us) to us but still give the vibe of a poor neighbor.

OUR OPTIONS: HOUSES

Sunshine Village Mobile home park
Although in the sense of how close it is to us this trailer park would be the closest to where we and our convenience we have decided to probably not choose this one. This is because although it is a trailer park it actually looks very nice and clean.  This is a problem because our character needs to be in the low class for the story to work. So, having such nice houses would not work well.

Kings Trailer Park

The second location we were researchings was the Kings Trailer Park. This part is 5 minutes farther than the last which can be a disadvantage but not a big one. This park is what we are going for a little more run down and old. This trailer park is perfect for the setting of her house which is to show low-class houses.

OUR OPTIONS: TRACK

Cypress Bay Track
This Track would be more convenient since it is at the school that all of my group members go to but the track for Cypress Bay fairly new and in better condition than the other track. We might still use this track for competition scenes or school practices ( we need to decide if the school would have money or be poor).

Tequesta Trace Track
This track is a little more run down and worn out then the school's We might put this in the credit scene as well to establish what type of track she does (because of people who might think she does cross country). We can also use this track as the school's track (if we decide that it is a poor school). This track matches her socio-economic situation better than the other one.
