Minor music change haha (oops)
Hello, I am back!
I have been debating doing this through the whole editing process as you guys know we had chosen a trap hood type music called "TIK TOK (No Copyright Sound) Rap on Beat HamburgHood Records - (FREE MUSIC, Trap, Instrumental, Beat). It is upbeat, instrumental, and trap. ----------->
BUT
After repeatly listening to it I have decided it sounded more like the beginning of a horror drama. The deep bass and repeated sound of the dark reminded me of a thriller or horror movie. When this movie is supposed to a Sports Drama that motivational and exciting.
SO
I decided to change it. It was a quick easy change. Since I hadn't cut any part or rearrange anything I changed it with motivational and sports-oriented music and since at the core, this is an athlete's story.
I changed for PUNKY
I went to Bensound and I looked in the motivational/sports cluster and after filtered out what I didn't like I found it was right there. It's fast and determined just like Elena.

AUDIO PROBLEM SOLVED/ Editing Updates
As said in the last editing post we had a big problem with audio.
Although I had decreased the volume of the music in the conversation was not clear and the video sounded awkward.
As said in the last post because I switched from video to iMovie I had new options for me.
- In iMovie I found the button to eliminate background noises this was the ultimate key to hearing the audio and still being able to put the background music.
Another topic I thought was important to discuss was the credits and how spaced they appear.
- The first title was SIMS PRODUCTION which is basically the name of our studio
-The two screens had nothing in order for the audio to recognize our main character and the setting behind her.
I skipped one clip in between credits so the audience wasn't always reading and so the credits were spaced out. I did not include credits in the conversation scene because I wanted the audience listening instead of just looking and reading.
3rd: A film by Maria Jauregui
5th: Sophia Blanco
7th: Isabel Gambril
9th clip: Written, Directed and Edited by Maria Jauregui
11th clip: Featuring Music by Hamburhood Records
13th clip: Cinematographed and Produced by Sophia Blanco
15th and 16th: (short clips so I put it in two): Starring Isabel Gambrill as Elena
LAST TITLE CARD: the title RUNNING OUT

CHANGING EDITING SYSTEMS
Hi, guys, I'm back!
As seen in my earlier editing post I was using the recommended wevideo.
I have heard great things about this editing site BUT it's not for me. I have used for other projects but it was really bothering me. Maybe it's because its web-based and not an app but it was extremely laggy and hard to work with.
- There was no way to mute background noises (maybe there was but I could not find it)
- I spent almost TWO HOURS trying to find a way to upload the fonts I had downloaded to use for the credits and the title.
- Not to mention when I tried to do it with a normal font I could not move the title card where I wanted to go. (and I couldn't change the color)
I don't know if it's me or maybe I was having a bad day but I was over it.
So since I had a MacBook I switched over to iMovie. I have used it for my childhood movie when I was little.
Even though I was basically done with my project on wevideo (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PUTTING THE CREDITS) I decided to just push through and start placing the clips again. Since neither site let me copy and paste the video in order.
It was surprisingly easier this time since I knew where everything went and how much to cut
On iMovie, I could use the fonts and cancel out background noises and overall I was happy with how it turned out

NEXT STEPS
So, because of the lack of footage we have we decided to fill in some scenes to add more background to Elena.
Because these scenes will be at Elena's house the filmmaker can shoot it at their house. This allows us to continue social distances and just add new parts to the film.
Two scenes:
1. Sticky Note from Elena's mom
This adds background of how the mom and the family background is. The Spanish in the sticky will highlight her cultural back ground.

Editing
Today as we edited we worked with the sound of the film.
The film is based on 4 major audios.
1. Alarm clock audio: We used this as the first sound this is because it startle the audience wake them up. It indicates the audience to notice the different objects along the room (telling the story). The audience awakens as Elena does and shows how the perspective is told through her.

2. Song for the whole: TIK TOK (Trap) : This beat is placed throughout the whole opening of the film. This beat has many continual strums this shows how Elena is on auto-pilot. She has a tight schedule and she determine to run and train. The editing part came in when the conversation on the phone came into play. We had to decrease the sound of this to be able to hear it.
3. The audio for the conversation was being taken over by the other sounds. Although we wanted the outside sounds it makes it almost impossible to lower the music to hear. So to not totally decrease the music we changed the video into an audio file to place it over the video.
